I thought it would be fun to share our family's book list of living books that we have read and ones that are currently reading together. Living books are wonderful novels that bring a topic to life with fascinating characters and subjects and peek the curiosity of the reader. I'll update this post with each new book that we start or that we are adding to our home library. My children enjoy reading independently and enjoy comics and humorous books and I wanted to expose them to classical and beautiful stories by read a loud together. I think it's very important to allow our children to choose their own books to read as I'm sure this will help them enjoy reading. Please share any of your favorite living books by commenting below!
Currently reading together:
  • "Big Red" by Jim Kjelgaard
  • "Kingdon's Dawn" by Chuck Black

Some of our favorite books that we read together and thoroughly enjoyed:
  • "The Penderwicks" by Jeanne Birdsall
  • "Charlotte's Web" by E. B. White
  • "The Trumpet of the Swan" by E.B. White
  • "The Call of the Wild" by Jack London

Planning to read together:
  • The sequels to "The Penderwicks" by Jeanne Birdsall
  • "Stuart Little" by E. B. White
  • Adventure novels by Peter Reese Doyle
  • "The Golden Road" By L.M. Montgomery
  • "Caddie Woodlawn" by Carol Ryrie Brink

ART QUOTE FOR TODAY

3/17/2022

There's a quote by artist, David Hockney, that says, "The urge to draw must be deep within us because children love to do it" that made me think of my children's artistic curiosity. I couldn't agree more with this quote because my children, who are both different in their artistic journey, each show creativity and excitement when they are given a drawing resource or encouraged to draw something.

  4. Develop problem solving skills
  5. Cultivate ideas

NEW SCHOOL YEAR ALL ABOUT ME ARTIST CREATIVE PACK

8/31/2021

Picture
Hi Everyone! It has been awhile since my latest post. I have been taking this summer to really create products and I am having a blast. I truly enjoy creating resources that encourages drawing and art. It has been a joy. This month has been my best month in producing resources as well as sales at my TPT shop. Who would've thought that this is where my art endeavor took me!

I homeschool my children and we started the school year in the beginning of August. I wanted a head start for us to catch up and review some of last year's curriculum. My goal for this school year is to start incorporating some of my own art resources in our learning as I think they are old enough.  I encourage each of you to find ways to add art to all subjects as I think children naturally gravitate to creating art. It engages them and truly build up their confidence.

With this said check out my Back to School Artist Pack and have a blessed year!
